Apoologies in advanced if i am missing any obvious key points that i should have noticed on other posts but..
I have created my channels logo text in 4D to import to after effects so when i use trapcode form on it it gets that extra edge but when i export/save the .aec file i always get:
After effects: AEGP plugin pro import: "unable to open selected file. please contact customer support." (0:1100) (5027 :: 12 )
and if i try with a normal import i get what i will show as an attached picture
i'm not at all familiar with 4d so please try and take it easy with any instructions you may provide
You need to install the C4D AEC importer plug-in that comes with Cinema 4D. Make sure to pick the right version for your version of AE. Use the ones that are in your C4D folder, not the ones from the Maxcon website. Those may be outdated and incompatible. The ones from the installer/ updater are usualyl the latest version.
Are you trying to use an obj file in Form to define a point field? If so you need to save your C4D file as an obj. There are tutorials on how to do this on the Red Giant TV.
If you are trying to bring a C4D project into AE then follow Mulenium's advice.
