use: _level0.loading_spinner._visible = false;
target the 'root' level, if in index.swf
iv tried this, and repeated it but still doesn't appear to work.
ok you said above that the index.swf contains the MC 'spinner_mc', isn't this the 'instance name' you should be targeting?
ie: _level0.spinner_mc._visible = false;
make sure you have an instance name on the MC instance.
i have checked this several times.
i am using this code:
_level0.loading_spinner._visible = false;
_level0.loading_spinner.enabled = false;
the MC in index.swf has an instance name of: loading_spinner
still no luck!
hmmm... strange. Are you using the '_lockroot' property anywhere?
also try: '_root.loading_spinner ...'
(although _level0 should be the 'same' even better)
However, since you are using the MCL class in the index.swf, you may want to control this from there using the 'onLoadInit' method, you could place the code in there, and when the loaded instance instantiates on the timeline it will fire the code. then of course, just call the MC.
still no luck.
then your first message contains an error.
on loading_spinner's timeline, place:
and use that output to detect the correct path to loading_spinner.
this traced the same as what i was putting in previously but this time i tried putting it in the loader.swf aswell as the login.swf. for some reason it only works when placed in the login.swf. so all is good. thanks everyone! all is appreciated!
