Can I 'edit' this post somehow, or should I make a new one with the extra info? I can't seem to find an edit button on here.
Just append a new post to this thread. Postsd cannot be editetd once they have been replied to.
I'm having the exact same problem on a MacBook Pro. I downloaded Photoshop CS6 from Creative Cloud and it was working fine. Then I installed the latest update and it was still working. Then suddenly after I changed a few system preferences in Photoshop, it crashes on startup. The logo comes up and then disappears and then the program seems to be working for about 20 seconds. Then suddenly a blank white box pops up and the program is dead. Any fix for this?
A couple things;
1- Does the white box say anything or is it like the not responding white box?
2- Take a screenshot of said box/ other important information.
3- Go through my responses on my other thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5333103#5333103) and look for the other screen shots that I took and take them the same as I did but with your machine. This will help us understand where you're coming from.
4- Try once again without the preferences (hold control alt and shift as soon as you click on the photoshop icon to delete all preferences) and see if its fine. If it is, then it's cause of that.
5- if you have a tablet installed and hooked up, try installing the driver from the Wacom (or equal companies) web page, but install the build right before your current one. That is what did it for me.
1. No the white box does not have anything in it. When I move my cursor over it, the cursor turns in to the rotating color wheel and stays like that.
2. Screenshot below.
3. Which screenshot would you want me to take? I see several screenshots of different things on that thread. Here's my memory info:
4. This worked!!! It doesn't crash when I do this....so what does that mean? I only changed a few settings like toggling between full screen mode, hiding the toolbars using the TAB key and increasing the size of the thumbnails in the Layers, Channels and Paths box.
Thanks for your help.
Now it loads without crashing (after I did your trick once), but now I can't toggle between the full-screen modes. It just remains at Standard Screen Mode. I can't even click on the other options nor can I use the F key on my keyboard. It's like it's disabled or something.
I'm not personally sure why the F toggle or anything is working. I would create a new discussion and link to this thread or just copy + paste what you did and what is happening so more people can find it.
