1. Re: DNG Raw squence in Premiere Pro?
JSS1138 May 19, 2013 1:19 PM (in response to Jan-Leo Kaak)I'd love to see CinemaDNG support built in as well. Be sure to let Adobe know you want this.

AngeloLorenzo Jul 28, 2013 9:10 AM (in response to Jan-Leo Kaak)CinemaDNG, as a format for Premiere, was dropped a while ago. Before Blackmagic started using it for their cameras, I think only 2 or 3 cameras had adopted it as a format (Ikonsop had one model that comes to mind) and Premiere engineers were not happy with the playback performance. If you want support, like others suggest, then request it.
For now, consider support the wild west. Test your finishing and VFX software for compatibility and then use a good intermediate codec to transcode to for editing.

JSS1138 Jul 28, 2013 9:14 AM (in response to AngeloLorenzo)Hey, if Adobe can get RED and Arri Raw files working realtime, I feel confident they can do the same for their own format. There are now five cameras that record CinemaDNG, three from Blackmagick, one from Ikonoscope, and one from Kinefinity (with three more from them on the way).
But we do need those requests to make it happen.

peoplemerge_ Jul 28, 2013 10:02 AM (in response to JSS1138)Yes, I'm satisfied with Apple Prores HQ as an intermediate codec. But the efficiency of the workflow leaves much to be desired! Hence this discussion. Also I agree with Jim that if they can make RED and Arri work, why not CDNG? Granted RED files have a lossless compression to keep the bitrate down, which must improve the post process (or at least move it away from IO).
Now that most recent Canon cameras support some form of raw recording, there are MANY potential users of this!

JSS1138 Jul 28, 2013 10:04 AM (in response to peoplemerge_)RED files have a lossless compression
RED's compression actually isn't lossless, it's lossy. CinemaDNG, however, offers both no or lossless compression.

Fuzzy Barsik Jul 28, 2013 10:12 AM (in response to JSS1138)Generally speaking, CinemaDNG Importer prospects are not limited to CinemaDNG format only. Rather it could become an open door to direct import any RAW files via CameraRAW application...

MZ333 Jul 22, 2014 8:40 AM (in response to Jan-Leo Kaak)Greetings. Can someone please help? Cinema DNG from BMCC importing into Premiere CC and I can then work with them as with video. However, I am not able to use Camera Raw to do some editing the source data.
It is open Camera Raw from Premiere CC?
When you edit a data source in Camera RAW via Bridge, affects these adjustments in Premiere?
Thank you in advance for info.
