    Problems with inserting audio tracks.

      why is it when i put in an audio track into the soundtrack section in the expert view, i get a gap in my video which i can not close?

          That  is the auto rippling feature. As I show you in my book, you can override this by holding down the Ctrl key as you need your audio clips to your timeline.

            Adding media to Timeline can (often does) disturb files already on the Timeline tracks to the extent of creating gaps, cutting audio, etc.

             

            Use of what is called a "Keyboard modifier" while making the addition has been the answer to avoiding such problems. Although many (SG et al) recommend holding down the Ctrl Key of the computer main keyboard during the addition in order to avoid these problems, I and others favor the use of the Alt Key of the computer main keyboard during a file addition to avoid any Timeline track disturbances.

             

            Please let us know if use of the keyboard modifier (either one or both) worked for you.

              Thanks everyone, using the keyboard has resolved my problem.  I am so greatful, i can now complete my project.
