I'm looking to invest in a Premiere system but need to know if it will work with a particular setup.
I want to have two suites, one at the office and one at home, both with the same footage and projects. I'd like to be able to work on one suite, copy the project to a USB stick and take it home to continue working where I left off.
I'm assuming that will work so long as the media drives are mirrored exactly on both systems so when I open the project it won't have to relink to different locations.
I want to make sure though before I invest the money. Just looking for someone to confirm?
If you keep the paths for your Project, media files,
Preview Files and Media Cache the same on both systems,
it will not be any problem.
Premiere will look to absolute paths for assets (including drive letter).
I have sucessfully done this between my two workstations and
two laptops through several versions of Premiere, including CS6.
Oh... and, um... welcome to the Forum!
