1. Re: SendNow Virus Scan Problems
VadimKatz May 29, 2013 11:16 AM (in response to Monument Abstracts)Hello,
Sorry to hear about your experience. We checked and saw 5 SendNow upload transactions from you in the last 24 hours. The longest took 27 seconds for a 3Mb file with the transfer rate of 115kb/s. This rate is controlled by the client connection. Please make sure you are not on VPN and verify your upload connection performance.
Please write us back if there is anything else we can check for you.
Regards,
Vadim

VadimKatz May 29, 2013 11:50 AM (in response to Monument Abstracts)A co-worker just brought my attention to the fact that you posted your comment on May 23rd. I checked and indeed found 1.3Mb file that took almost 74 seconds to upload. The transfer rate was 17kb/s. This again indicates very low upload speed on your end.
Regards,
Vadim

3. Re: SendNow Virus Scan Problems
Monument Abstracts May 29, 2013 11:55 AM (in response to VadimKatz)Thank you, Vadim. Is there an Adobe status site that one could go to to see if there are issues with SendNow on any particular day so that I can be certain that it is a connection issue should this occur in the future?

4. Re: SendNow Virus Scan Problems
bob.treitman May 29, 2013 2:51 PM (in response to Monument Abstracts)Unfortunately not. But can you try going to testmy.net to measure your Upload speed, and then let us know what you're seeing?

Monument Abstracts May 29, 2013 3:51 PM (in response to bob.treitman)Which is more accurate on TestMy.Net… SmarTest or Select Test Size? If the latter, what is best size to give accurate results?

6. Re: SendNow Virus Scan Problems
VadimKatz May 29, 2013 3:55 PM (in response to Monument Abstracts)Try setting test size to at least 100mb

Monument Abstracts May 30, 2013 11:44 AM (in response to VadimKatz)Okay, is that 100 Mb (12.5 MB) or 100 MB?

8. Re: SendNow Virus Scan Problems
VadimKatz May 30, 2013 11:46 AM (in response to Monument Abstracts)I have not used the tool myself. The point is to have large enough upload where time spent to establish connection does not play a big role in total upload. 12.5 Mb may be enough. For as long as you don't test on a small file, you should be fine.

bob.treitman May 30, 2013 2:41 PM (in response to VadimKatz)If you select "SmarTest™ - Automatic" on http://testmy.net/upload, it will use increasingly large files until it gets to one that takes enough time to minimize the connection-establishment impact. In less than a minute or two, should see something like this:

I began using the auto Smartest but switched to a 12MB test which is about the size of the largest file I would send for my work. Xplornet was notified and the speed has improved. The problem for me… I didn't know if it was a SendNow or Xplornet issue.
Thank you for your help which is very much appreciated.

Monument Abstracts Jun 4, 2013 10:44 AM (in response to bob.treitman)My Internet connection is fine… today it appears to be a problem at Adobe's end.

bob.treitman Jun 4, 2013 10:51 AM (in response to Monument Abstracts)What are you seeing for upload speeds using http://testmy.net/upload
If you could post the results here, that would be helpful.

13. Re: SendNow Virus Scan Problems
Monument Abstracts Jun 4, 2013 11:10 AM (in response to bob.treitman)Thanks for the timely reply. I have run several upload tests over the past week and I just ran another on a 6 MB file which is about the size of the file I've been trying to send today… testMy.net reading is 771 Kbps, which is pretty good for Xplornet. My Adobe SendNow desktop app tells me my file is uploaded and is undergoing virus scanning, but it runs constantly until I get a message that Adobe has experienced an "unexpected error". It doesn't say to check Internet connection. I like SendNow and the ease with which my clients can receive files, but this is becoming untenable.

bob.treitman Jun 4, 2013 11:16 AM (in response to Monument Abstracts)Thanks. Can we ask you to run one more test?
Please try uploading from the web client (https://sendnow.acrobat.com), not the desktop application. I am curious to see if your results differ at all.

16. Re: SendNow Virus Scan Problems
Monument Abstracts Jun 4, 2013 12:24 PM (in response to bob.treitman)I just finished trying to send from the web client… once with both files which resulted in the smaller file finishing but the 4.2 MB file hung up in virus scanning… and a second attempt with just the 4.2 MB file alone which resulted in a prolonged virus scan before the "unexpected error" message from Adobe.
