Try Help->Update again after deleting following folder contents:
If it still does not resolve your issue then Please provide us with
Camera Raw installer log file at
Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers
This would help us in resolving the issue.

ACR Installer QE
I have deleted the folder content on my Windows PC (it is not a Mac as described in your procedure above).
After that the ACR 7.4 update was detected as pending bei AAM and installation was successful.
