I just got CS 6 and tried to make a bubble effect by using 50% gray and add emboss effect then choosing Hard light in transparency in InDesign. The bubble turned white with gray shadow and not transparent at all. 50% gray in Hard light mode should be clear transparent. When I recreated same bubble in Photoshop it turned transparent bubble with highlight and shadow.

The result was same even if I took away all the effects and tried just 50% gray. When I change the mode, Overlay and Soft light are transparent, Multiply is transparent with dark tint, and Hard light and Screen is white and no transparent.

I can't figure out what is going on. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
