Ongoing Artboard Bug - Artwork Shifts

    Doug Ridgway Community Member

This has been persisting through a couple versions and multiple versions. It's itermitent (meaning I can't reliably recreate it) but happens with enough regularity that it's become a liability.

When option-shift-dragging an artboard (to duplicate 'aligned'), artwork on one or both artboards shifts. This isn't a pixel-grid or snap-to issue (as far as it occuring regardless of the snap & pixel settings). The shift is approximately .125 - .25 inches — I'm not sure if it's in a consistent direction.

Searched the forms and not seeing any comments — anyone else out there seeing this (or better yet, fixed it)?

Are you sure if you select all in the Transform palette >> align to pixel grid is off, along with the Transform palette flyout >> align new objects to pixel grid is off?

Try Artboards flyout menu >> Duplicate Artboard when having this problem

A little more information — I don't typicall use the flyout menu to duplicate.... however, I've noticed today that it's also happening when I shift-constrain moving an artboard with the artboard tool.

With the help of files provided by Doug, Ai team has identified the issue and plans to fix it at the earliest. The reason looks to be a combination of selection and speed of drag.

So here is an exmaple of the scenario:

              1. Multiple Artboards in the document.

              2. In Artboard editing mode, the active artboard is selected.

              3. A non-active (non selected) artboard is moved or duplicated at some speed.

The issue is more frequent when working with tables

              Workaround:

              1. Select the desired artboard.

              2. Move or duplicate it at a slow speed.

              Thanks!
