What is the audio compression for this video with AVCHD video compression and a .mts file extension? I am assuming that the frame size is 1920 x 1080, but what would be the frame rate and interlaced or progressive? Are we talking about audio = Dolby DIgital Stereo 2 channel or 5.1 channel or AAC Stereo or other?
Is the problem specific for this one video or for all of the same format and all other formats? Has this particular format given you the problem before or is the very first time you have attempted to put footage from your new camera into Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1?
When you look at the Timeline track, do you see the audio portion of the file on Audio 1 and does it display with a wave form?
What happens if you open a new project?
What are using as your Get Media choice?
Have you tried transferrng the file from the memory card to the computer and from there into Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 with Premiere Elements' Get Media?
Let us start here and then decide what next based on your answers.
By the way, are you running Premiere Elements 9 as the 9.0.1 Update, have the latest version of QuickTime installed, and are running the program from a User Account with Adminstratvie Priviledges?
Welcome to the forum, and two last questions:
John T. talked about the folder structure on your SD card. Did you Copy the full folder structure, or just the media files?
When you Imported the MTS files, did you allow those files to completely Conform, or did you immediately drag them to the Timeline?
For more detail on Conforming, see this article: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3892177#3892177
