So a long time ago I used to work fine with .mts files. but the other day I shot some footage with a Canon vixia HF S100 camera and when I imported it to After Effects CS6 it doesnt import it with the audio, only video. I checked out the levels and does not appear anything. Also in the top left corner when you select an imported footage it kinda tells you the description of it and it doesn't say anything about audio.
(doesn't happen with other kind of files though, everything else plays audio and video normally)
any idea what could have happened?
If you can hear the audio in another application but notin AE, it's probably the nature of the file. The audio isembedded in the video. But AE needs a separate audio track. If you want audio in AE, export the original file in a different media container & codec.
yea, thought about that. but the weird thing is that I used to work normaly with the footage from the same camera. something changed with AE I guess, but I don't know what.
Either you changed the recording settings on the camera or, which is more likely, you screwed up the CoDecs on your system or something with your audio hardware. Uninstall any CoDec packs, reinstall AE, check your audio prefs in AE and on the system...
