How do I crop to 16:9?

    Arturo8 Level 1

I have been shooting timelapse on a Canon 5DM2 and G11 and processing in After Effects 5.5.  Their aspect ration is 4:3 (I think) but I'd prefer 16:9.  I would like to cut the top and bottom of the frame (or one or the other) in order to make the aspect ratio 16:9.  How might I achieve this?

Put the footage into a 16x9 comp in the resolution and frame rate of your choice.  I recommend inporting the footage as an image sequence to treat it as just one piece of footage.  In the comp, scale and position trhe footage as desired.  You can even animte the scale and position if you want.
