I use Premeire Elements 10, so I was wondering if 11 will finally allow users to lock a track. Most of the time I make basic documentary-style videos, so I need the ability to cut the interview together, lock that track, and then add B-roll in the tracks above. This is a feature that is available in the Pro version, but I do not need anything that powerful and complicated for my simple projects. If I have to continue using a work around, what are the best export settings so I can re-import the one long clip once the interview is complete without losing quality? Thanks!
This is not a feature of Premiere Elements.
However, if you hold down the Ctrl key as you add your B roll, the rest of the timeline will stay locked in place.
Thanks Steve. I will give that a try.
