    Flex sessions

I just started developing in Flex 2 a week ago and am in reactive mode. I have an application with user authentication, and I have to figure out a way to make the user_id variable stay active throughout a user's session.

Do http sessions work through Flex applications? Should I be making use of shared objects?

Thank you for your guidance on this one. I'm scratching my head!

Typically, server sessions are not required because Flex is stateful. The page is never refreshed, so the application always has its data. Just keep the user_id in a variable.

You would only need LSO if you wanted to keep state when the browser is closed.

You can pass a sessionId (or anyting else) into flex using flashvars.
