    Fonts T1

    KirstenCCSA

I'm using Helvetica neue T1 in InDesign CS6 on a Mac; however I wish to edit the document on a PC using CS6 and the font is missing on the PC. Can you tell me how I would get the font I need please?

The most accurate answer would be: You need to purchase it from the same font vendor who made your Helvetica Neue on the Macintosh. If you choose Type > Find Font, select the font and choose Reveal in Finder, you'll see the font file. Select it and choose File > Get Info and it may show the vendor.

You could substitute another Helvetica Neue font but it may have different character widths and kerning, resulting in reflow.

That's one of the limitations of Type 1 fonts: They have different font files for Mac and Windows. That's one reason of several why using OpenType fonts, which are cross-plaform, is a better choice.
