What did I do wrong?
You are assuming that AE works the same like Premiere, which it doesn't. Realtime playback requires RAM previews.
Are you doing a RAM preview or just pressing the space bar? Is your comp set to full resolution or to auto? Where is your media stored? What kind of codec is used in the original footage?
Thank you for your contribution/s, I've been reading up on some of it earlier, but will get deeper into it.
halfway through the ram preview or a render, this shows up, and the process stops.
3,06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
16 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB
I do not have a second drive, set up.
Did you do what that warning message told you to do?
Yes I did, however, the issues still remain.
After I import from Dynamic Link, the vids will not "conform" fully:
I still sequence them, and get them set up in the timeline. Preview them immediately, and they all stop around the half way point. When I drag the time indicator towards the end of the clip (the part that didn't render/preview), AE gets "overworked" and I'm forced to quit the program/it shuts itself down.
Since I don't have an extra drive to put the cache folder, do you have a recommendation for where I should put it, or wouldn't it make any difference?
