trouble with flash player??

I am using windows 8 and have had trouble downloading and using flash player.  i have uninstalled it and gone thru the help page, however now,  (regardless of which link i use) everytime i try, i cannot get to the download page, it always skips to help page.  is the problem flash, windows 8 or me??
