What version of RH are you using? Chrome’s traditionally had some “security” fixes that have blocked older versions of help created by RH.
Thanks for the reply.
It is RoboHelp 10.0, installed by our IT group here at my company. I presumed this is the latest version?
Yes, that version works with Chrome – where is your WebHelp located? Locally or on a webserver?
The PDFs were created in RoboHelp, and our WebHelp section which I use RoboHelp to develop is created in a local file, then uploaded on a web server.
Essentially, we have a Help Section for our clients. The Help Section is part of our web-pased product.
I use RoboHelp to design the content of this Help Section. When editing this RoboHelp file, I am linking in some sections to PDF documents which are stored on our company wide, shared drive.
It is these PDF files which open successfully in I.E., but not in Chrome.
Sounds like you're making a hypertext reference to them in your webhelp - the fact that it works in IE sounds like it's a setting in Chrome that needs tweaking. Will it work using FF?
We do not have Firefox available at the office.
What would be the setting to tweak in Chrome, do you know? I also have not tried to open this material on my personal, home computer in Chrome. If that works, do you thing it could be a corporate network/intranet setting at the office? My colleagues in office pointed out this issue to me, as they saw it on Chrome as well in office.
No idea – might be something about launching other links from within webpages or trusted domains.
Could experiment with FF from home if visible or Chrome to isolate it to browser behaviour or corporate settings
