>silent update to the cloud
I am not on the Cloud, but my understanding... from reading several other messages... is that Cloud updates consist of notices, which you then install on YOUR schedule (and, by the way, the next Cloud update is said to be scheduled for June 17)
As far as PPro going back to default by itself... I don't remember any other message saying that has happened
Right. And I had no updates coming my way to my knowledge. That is why I got so surprised when suddenly this happend.
I do like surprises but not loosing day's of work. That is not ok in my book.
When everything is working right... and as long as your project and video files are on a different drive... you might want to make a full backup of your boot drive
The product I use is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may restore the image to a brand new drive in case of a crash, and not have to re-install anything
I don't recall ever hearing about preferences getting reset on their own but...it took you two days to adjust them to your liking?
The last two day's of work was gone.
To set everything to my liking was minutes to do. Conforming files in a large project was over night.
I dont understand why savefiles didn't work as supposed. Litteraly two day's of work was like never done.
Did you make a back up or only relied just on the auto save?
Auto save can be a bit dodgy, that is why I always Save A Copy to another drive.
From previous problems I use the Autosave as well saving manually into new file versions.
All saved files was there but all contained the first version information.
This sound so strange I have asked myself if I blacked out for two days and only dreaming that I was working....
