Adobe air doesn't work with my software any more.

Hi all, I have 2 pieces of software that require adobe air, and lately both have been getting intermittent, both fail at the same time and then both start working at the same time.

I had the suggestion made by support forone that this is a problem with adobe air, and as both require it, and both fail or work at the same time, this seems reasonable.

I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it, no difference. They have also suggested I try it with a different user, and with a different user it works fine.

Windows 7, it should be the latest version of air as I uninstalled and redownloaded and installed just a couple of days ago.

The software that won't work is Market Samurai (cannot connect to google adwords) and Long Tail Pro (cannot connect to server).

Any ideas anyone?

Correction, I just tried again in another user account and it wouldn't work in that account either.

Just tried uninstalling and reinstalling again, same result.

Sorted. After quite some time on Google I found the suggestion to take a look at IE (I use chrome) and see if it is set in offline mode. It was, how I have no idea, but untick that and hey presto it works!

Yet another consequence of Adobe AIR using the Internet Explorer browser engine in recent versions, as opposed of the much more reliable WebKit engine which was used in older versions of AIR. Glad that you could find a solution. Other people won't be so lucky and will have to rely on the app developer to release an updated app that fixes what wasn't broken before Adobe's switch to IE in AIR.
