Reboot? Any beta drivers installed? Old drivers for another card still on the system? What OS? Is your AE up to date? I'm assuming you are using CS6.
> This is one of recommended listed cards for CS6.
Where did you get that information? That card is not on this list:
What is the exact message that you're referring to when you say that After Effects "reports that this GPU is incompatible"? Is it just saying that it won't use this GPU for the CUDA acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer? If so, the only thing that you'd be missing is GPU acceleration of one feature.
See this page for details of how the GPU is used in After Effects:
Thank you for repling . I did reboot the system. I have no beta drivers installed. I did have an older NVIDIA version on my system, after reading your reply I deleted it. The operating system is windows 7 professional 64 bit. I updated AE before updating the drivers. I am using windows CS6. I will try to reboot since I deleted the old drivers for the former NVIDIA card I was using. Thanks again for the suggestions.
Thanks for repling. It is the same sight you mentioned. The QUADRO K2000 card is a newer genaration of the QUADRO 2000 according to NVIDIA website. The exact message is as following:
Fast Draft: Available
Texture Memory: 1092.00 MB
(GPU not available - incompatible device or display driver)
Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Device: Quadro K2000/PCIe/SSE2
Total Memory: 1.95 GB
Shader Model: 4.0 or later
Driver Version: -
Current Usable Memory: -
Maximum Usable Memory: -
The Quadro K2000 is not the same same the Quadro 2000. That card is not a card that After Effects will use for GPU acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer. It is fine for other GPU features. See the information linked to in my previous message. There is nothing more that you need to do.
I am having a simliar situation with my K5000M card. This is their best professional card from my research on a mobile platform. I recently purchased this in a 8770w mobile workstation from HP. Are you saying that I cannot get GPU acceleration inside of AE with this card??? That will be majorly frustrating as this is their new line of card, maybe driver update is needed? My card works inside of Premiere pro no problems. It also works with my 3d packages and works extremely well I might add.
In regards to the original posters comments, you do realize that the K2000 is the newer version of the 2000 right? I am guessing we wil have to wait for driver release. You can confirm what I am saying at this link. You will find mine in the mobile part under ultra high end.
