Did you try mouseenter and mouseleave?
Thanks for the response - As a non programmer I have never used jQuery but am open to explore the basics. Is this trivial for someone who is familiar with it?
I do not think it is much different. Just place your mouseover code into a mouseenter code.
Can you tell us the structure of your composition?
Are your buttons in a symbol?
Are your mouseover to play symbols on the stage?
Thanks for the response. The splash page I constructed for www.philipchudy.com is one place which is ripe for a few time delay mouseover constraints. In particular the big advertising and personal button areas, which the mouse will transit over on the way up and down the page. There are no symbols on that page.
The areas in question are simple mouseovers although many mouseovers on the page contain a large list of instructions to a lot of elements elsewhere on the page. If there is jquery code which would in effect 'sym.$("Text1").show();after x millseconds' ( or similar) it might be trivial to improve the look and feel of the page. I have watched a few jquery videos to get an idea of what it can do - but not encountered the very basics at this point.
