1. Re: Cannot open Encore projects CS 5.1
Stan Jones Jun 9, 2013 7:39 PM (in response to texber2012)Encore is not finding a preset. Are your presets in this location?: (For win7)
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS6\Presets\Internal

2. Re: Cannot open Encore projects CS 5.1
texber2012 Jun 9, 2013 9:38 PM (in response to Stan Jones)The presets are in C:\Program Files (x86)\....., and I have Encore CS 5.1.

3. Re: Cannot open Encore projects CS 5.1
Stan Jones Jun 10, 2013 6:40 AM (in response to texber2012)And the part of the path you left out includes "...(x86)/Adobe/Adobe Encore CS5.1/Presets"?
Encore (all adobe programs?) keep versions separate by install directories.
I am assuming that is yes. Can we also assume the projects were completed in CS5.1?
I don't know why this error would come up unless something changed.

4. Re: Cannot open Encore projects CS 5.1
texber2012 Jun 11, 2013 11:06 AM (in response to Stan Jones)Mr. Jones - answers to above are all "Yes." As far as I know there have been no changes, unless there were changes due to updates. My version of Encore is 5.1.0.342. Thanks for your effort in getting to a resolution.

5. Re: Cannot open Encore projects CS 5.1
Stan Jones Jun 11, 2013 11:13 AM (in response to texber2012)Are you running Encore "as administrator"? Not just as a user with administrative rights.
Can you open Encore before opening a project? Can you create a new project?

6. Re: Cannot open Encore projects CS 5.1
texber2012 Jun 11, 2013 11:25 AM (in response to Stan Jones)I've tried both ways - as an administrator and as a user, same error message. Yes, I can open Encore and create a new project.

7. Re: Cannot open Encore projects CS 5.1
Stan Jones Jun 11, 2013 11:38 AM (in response to texber2012)No idea what is going on.
Create a new project, add an asset as timeline (doesn't matter what it is), then right click on the asset and pick transcode settings. Under Bluray, set to mpeg, pixel size as in your error message, and see if you can pick a preset from the list. Select and save. Does that work?
This further checks the functionality of the presets.
We have to suspect a corrupt Encore project.

8. Re: Cannot open Encore projects CS 5.1
texber2012 Jun 11, 2013 5:51 PM (in response to Stan Jones)I have not had time to try the proposed solution above.
However, I noticed that a number of the preset files had "acquired" a file extension of "REJ." After deleting this extension the project opened normally.
I do not know how this happened. Any thoughts? Is it likely to happen again?
Mr. Jones - once again thanks for your suggestions and help in resolving this.

9. Re: Cannot open Encore projects CS 5.1
Stan Jones Jun 11, 2013 6:35 PM (in response to texber2012)No idea.
So the file that should be:
Blu-ray NTSC 1280x720 24p MPEG-2.epr
was:
Blu-ray NTSC 1280x720 24p MPEG-2.epr.rej
OR
Blu-ray NTSC 1280x720 24p MPEG-2.rej
