If you are using external files in Shockwave it's always a good idea to preload them first with preloadNetThing(). Once netDone on that operation completes successfully you should set the filename to the URL you preloaded from
Thanks a lot, I'll give that a try.
Tried it, unfortunately with same result. Works fine on IE and Chrome, failed to load bitmaps in Firefox. Next week I'll check some things if this is a safety - option of Firefox or even of the apache server that is picked up only by Firefox - I don't know. Firefox Version is 21.0.
Thanks again for help, will report if there is a solution.
Like always the problem was different. I had s.th. like: member("xxx").filename = _movie.path & "subfolder\bitmapname.bmp" (should have written it this way, but didn't assume that here is the mistake). With IExplorer and Chrome there is no problem with "\" in path name, but with Firefox there has to be "/" (wonder why the browser has an influence on this?). Now it works with all browsers.
FWIW you can use the pathname operator in this situation which is folder-delimiter agnostic:
member("xxx").filename = "@/subfolder/bitmapname.bmp"
and this should work on Windows, Mac and in Shockwave
Ah - that explains what I saw when I checked the pathname in three different situations:
From a lokal "exe": "c:\programfolder\"
From Shockwave in Browser via Webserver: "http://server/...."
From Shockwave in Browser via dswmedia-folder: "@"
Didn't know this operator, thanks for the hint.
