Lilybiri Jun 13, 2013 10:57 AM (in response to Missteach)Video output is MP4. There are a lot of video (free) converters around that allow you to convert from MP4 to other formats, like AVI.

RodWard Jun 14, 2013 12:45 AM (in response to Missteach)What makes them think an AVI is going to be better quality per megabyte than an H.264 MP4 video? Have they done any comparison tests? Are they aware that their AVI videos are not going to be compatible with newer technology such as tablets? I would have thought people in the education sector would be keen to use technologies that are more compatible with what their students will be using.

Lilybiri Jun 14, 2013 1:06 AM (in response to RodWard)Hi Rod, didn't want to answer in a similar way because I'm in education and too much aware of the attitude towards new technology in a lot of colleges and universities at least over here in Europe.

RodWard Jun 14, 2013 1:47 AM (in response to Lilybiri)Well in the USA and here in Australia it is looking very much the opposite. EVERYONE wants their courses to be compatible with tablets and HTML5 because that's what the kids and students are wandering around with.

Lilybiri Jun 14, 2013 6:28 AM (in response to RodWard)Not so many students even have a smartphone here, same for teachers. Only small percentage of my students had a tablet. Sometimes feel I'm not living in the same century as the others...

Missteach Jun 14, 2013 6:48 AM (in response to Missteach)Hello - it's so the IT department can use the 'better quality of the AVI file to make edits etc before the students convert to MP4 later'.
