1. Re: Lightroom/Bridge/InDesign
Tom Hogarty Jun 13, 2013 1:14 PM (in response to Heirloom Bob)In Lightroom you can turn on the option to automatically write the adjustment metadata into XMP. (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/lightroom/using/WS3B7C007A-4A38-4063-863A-80DB6AAB4812.html) Since Bridge/ACR use the same adjustment language, Bridge will "see" the edits you've made in Lightroom.

Dave Merchant Jun 13, 2013 1:49 PM (in response to Tom Hogarty)Sorry Tom but that doesn't work. Lr can save the XMP develop tags (or write a sidecar) easily enough, but:
- Bridge doesn't read or respect develop tags in non-raw files (try making a JPEG black and white, Ctrl=S, then open in Bridge).
- InDesign can't place raw files (neither does it bother reading the develop tags in anything it can place)
The working solution is to develop in Lr then export your images to non-raw files (JPG/TIFF), so you get a baked result that can be placed into InDesign (and will look right in Bridge / Explorer / Finder).

Sorry, but it does for me.

john beardsworth Jun 13, 2013 2:08 PM (in response to Heirloom Bob)Bob, you need to specify file types and, to a lesser extent, operating systems.
Look at setting up a publish service, outputting the files as TIFs. Lr will then create a folder of files for InDesign. If you re-edit a picture in LR, the publish service will show which images need republishing.

Heirloom Bob Jun 13, 2013 2:19 PM (in response to john beardsworth)Well in my case, I shoot as RAW, edit and export to jpg in Lightroom. (Windows 7)
Publish Service- Would I use Hard Drive as my service option?

Heirloom Bob Jun 13, 2013 2:28 PM (in response to Jim Wilde)I just edited a colour RAW photo in LR, converted to B/W, exported as JPG. Opened Bridge and the photo is B/W as it should be. Have I missed something or is it this simple?
