Hi John, thanks for your response.
I am going to edit soccer matches, basic cut and render, as well as combining several video inputs for creating a split screen output.
Nothing special really, no sound significance for instance.
but my budget is quite large so I want to buy something good that will last for as many years as possible.
Do you have anything specific in mind maybe?
DV from a tape camera or DSLR from a still camera that also does video or AVCHD from a dedicated video camera... or... ???
Click the 1st 2 links I provided (I think you can ignore the 4k video link) to get ideas
I am going to use videos recorded from a brand new small digital video camera and stuff that i will download from the web.
So i guess stuff like MP4, AVI etc.
I looked at the links, but i see that in all of them there is a need for customization after buying.
I'm not much of a specialist so i would rather but something that will suit my needs without the need of any customization. any thought?
>suit my needs without the need of any customization
I think http://www.adkvideoediting.com/ sells laptops, as well as desktops... go look
Otherwise, there are very few laptops that are ready for video editing
Laptop version of i7
16 Gig of ram
2 each 7200rpm hard drives, or SSD and a 7200rpm hard drive
Thanks for the help!
