I have a new little handycam that I bought to take on holiday and now we actually use it for some conferencing work where I have just gone back to work as an editor (after an 18 year absence from the field of production and post-production). The Handycam is a Sony HDR-PJ760. The files are.MTS. When I import from the camera direct into PPro, the video looks stilted and jagged. Any straight edge in the shot looks just as though we had an old fashioned anti-alias problem. Am I not importing correctly or what am I missing? Our DSLR footage just zooms straight in and looks great.
Be sure to copy the entire card to the hard drive first. Don't change or rename anything. Once you have PP open, use the Media Browser to navigate to the media and import from there.
Be sure you're sequence settings are correct.
make sure playback quality is set to Full.
i have the same problem – very, very frustrating. you say "Be sure you're sequence settings are correct."
what are the correct sequence settings?
also, i copied the entire card across. when i try to import the .mts files, pp says "file tyoe not supported.
