Extension Manager CC can't start

If you are in windows, try to delete the file ExMan.db from C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Configuration\DB and try again.

If it doesn't work, please send Extension Manager log file to me by following steps:

1. Create a file named "ExManCoreLibLog.Yes" in the folder C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Log

2. Relaunch Extension Manager and can't start again

3. Send ExManCoreLibrary.log in C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Log to me

Is your user folder in a web disk?

If yes, so far as I know, it was an known issue that Extension Manager 7.0 doesn't support this.

I'm having the same issue on my end. User fold is on the C drive, programs are installed on the C drive, and Extension Manger CS6 works without a problem.

Incidentally, the X drive is a mapped network share, but the program won't launch even if I remove the share.

I'm having the same problem on my Win7 desktop but on my Win8 laptop it is fine. A chat session with Adobe didn't help.

This is a known issue for User use Active Directory in a Domain, we will fix it in the coming update.

Did you use Active Directory?

My Win7 machine that is on a corporate domain has this problem. My Win8 laptop where I use a local user account works fine.

Dreamweaver CC is complete useless to me until you get this fixed. I can't install the deprecated database features Adobe thinks we don't need anymore without the EM.

One more vote to fix this sooner than a month from someone on Active Directory. I have legacy ASP pages to edit and I've read the extension manager is the only way to add that file type back into DW CC. I can't really use the new DW until this is fixed.

Very same issue/error here with Extension Manager CC; at a standstill until it's fixed.

I have an open case with Adobe on this.

Called them on Friday (21 June 2013) waiting on a reply from them, they said a senior engineer would be calling me. I will update this thread when I know more.

We are working on a patch to fix this issue and several other issues. Hopefully it will be available next week, but I can't commit it.

Serious we are paying allot of money for these products it's a shame that the extension manager isn't working.

If the root cause of your problem is active directory in corporate domain, you can try to login your computer with a local account.

We are testing the new patch. But I am not sure your problem has the same root cause as Understated_ unless you can find the similar information in your log file:

Here's the work around...
1) log out of your PC
2) log in as a local user (not attached to your corporate Domain.)
3) Launch Creative Cloud (use run as administrator if you have issues getting it to launch)
4) Install the extension

That's what worked for me.

Micah, corporate networks often do not permit local user authentication.

Yeah, might have to contact IT then.  I don't let folks dictate how my PC works, but I'm the IT Admin and Art Director.

Carl, If it's of any help, I have precisely the same error referencing a different network drive.

Respectfully, when will this fix be available?  My work on Dreamweaver CC is at a standstill, while I continue to pay monthly fees.  When I try and launch Extension Manager CC, a dialog comes up and says: "Failed to initialize Extension Manager".  This occurs on a corporate network ... and the Extension Manager references a different network drive.

Since I can't simulate the active directory environment perfectly, I am not sure whether the fix is complete. Could you and other people in this thread please send your mail address to exman.beijing@gmail.com? I will send the unofficial patch to you. Please check whether it solved your problem. Thanks!

Please uninstall the current version of Extension Manager available in Control Panel. Download the one from the link below and install it manually.

This still isn't working.  Now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.  I have uninstalled DW CS6 and and installed CC.  Now it appears that I can't even go back to CS6.  At least it isn't available in the create cloud resource window.  I need asp extensions added or this is useless.

I've had a case open with Adobe support on this issue since June 21. (see #19 in the thread post above)

Each time I talk with a tech we have difficult time talking as their english is not very good. Everytime its the same level one questions, in the end they tell me a senior technician will call me.

But they keep updating the ticket saying they attempted to call me asking me to call back.

Everytime I call in I lose at least 30 mins of work time going through the same level one questions, only to have the cycle repeat when they say a senior tech will call me. Today I was put on hold and this time the call was disconnected. Despite their taking my number in case the call was disconnected nobody called back, at least not in the 4 hours that I was at my desk before the end of my day. But I got another email saying they attempted to call me but I was unavailable, again. Nothing in the ticket about me talking to them today, or about us being disconnected.... unreal.

This has got to be the absolute worst experience, most frustrating experience, I've ever had with a tech support issue.

Nothing on my phone showing a missed call either, no voice mail, nothing...

The Extension Manager CC 7.0.1 patch became available just now. Please update to it.

For all people who installed my unofficial patch, please uninstall and reinstall Extension Manager CC then update to this official patch. Otherwise you won't be able to update to future patch.
