laptop - hard drive & RAM setup advice

    Caetanocs

      Hi there,

I'm customising a new laptop for video editing and after reading the thread "Generic Guideline for Disk Setup", I decided to replace the optical bay and install a third hard drive.

My idea is to install the OS and programs on the mSATA SSD. However, the SSD available does not has a great write speed. Would this "slow" write speed compromise the performance of the system?

I have the option of replacing the mSATA for a faster one, however, with only 120GB (120GB Kingston SSDNow mS200 mSATA (upto 550MB/sR | 520MB/sW)

Or would it be better to replace one of the HDD for a faster SSD?

As for the RAM, is 16GB enough? or should I go for 32GB?

      Thanks for the advice.
