Delete ALL the plugins you mistakenly copied from a previous version of Photoshop - they're interfering with the format menu.
Thanks Chris ... tossing the plugins didn't straighten things out but it was the right idea ... maybe there is a memory of things somewhere ... for others ... I put photoshop on a stick ... uninstalled photoshop ... reinstalled ... moved the plugins in batches ... File Formats causes problems ... and the Standard Multiplugin.plugin in Filters ... thanks for helping and for those who took a look ... Jim
No, there is no "memory of things".
For Photoshop CS6 and CC, you should only have third party plugins in the plugins folder.
It still sounds like you have copied plugins from a previous version by mistake.
You could be right ... with Google, OnOne, Knoll and Red Giant there might be a an Adobe plugin that is there by mistake but things are working right now ... I did try to reinstall the third party plugins from the original programs and that is probably best practice ... thanks again for your help ... Jim
