OS Support files go on OS volume - you should always have some room available on the OS volume.
Having the same issue and the above link has expired. This result came up first in google so can anyone help? I have 75GB of free space on my home drive. i have changed the settings from default install location to the applications folder, but still get the same error.
In case you are still looking, I had this issue too and for my situation the answer here worked: Not enough space available on disk untitled
With further info here (this links to above): CC apps install failed "insufficient disk space"
I'm in Mac OSX, with an SSD boot drive. Moving RamFS from my StartUpItems folder did the trick!
fwiw Adobe support had no clue about how to fix the issue but they did tell me that the workflow of CC downloads involves saving automatically to hidden /tmp folder before installing in the folder you specify in preferences (in your case the E: drive, OP. So we're all saying "but I don't even have that folder selected!" yetAdobe is still targeting a boot drive tmp folder without our knowledge. Hope that helps!
