You can not move files from one library to another at this time. We have had some requests to do this and have sent it to product management to consider. You can add files within one library to one or more albums. You will need to upload the files to the new library, and delete them from the old if this is what you want to achieve. Files within one library can only be uploaded once, but you can load duplicate files to other libraries.
We're thinking of adding a library copy feature soon. Hoping you can share some info here to help us understand how this might best work fo you. Here's a few questions I have:
- What do you use the 2 libraries for?
- Why do you want to copy?
- Do you have albums, favorites, and comments associated with the photos? Do you want them copied?
Anything else that you are hoping to accomplish here?
Thanks in advance,
We are 2 people using iDevices and I want each to have his own library.
At the same time I want to be able to copy the files from one to another or in a third common library.
I do not have any albums, favorites or comments associated with the photos, yet, but I wouldn't want them to be copied.
A tag with name, date and place would be sufficient.
Thanks Alex. Your worfklow makes sense. When you say "A tag with name, date and place would be sufficient," I'm not sure I follow. Is that just a separate feature request or is it related to moving files between libraries.
Peter: It's not a separate feature request. I meant the metadata stored in the picture file.
Got it - thanks again!
