    Flashing button

I've just designed a basic button in fireworks, but I'd like to make it stand out from my other buttons by making it flash on and off. How do I do this? I can't see anything under the effects section that adds any movement.

You'll need to animate it Draw a slice over it and change the slice
format to animated GIF in the Optimize panel. Create a new frame in the
frames panel, and copy the button image to the second frame. Make
whatever changes to the button on frame 2 that you like.

Note that this will not work properly if the button is a rollover, or if
you have created it with the button editor. You can have a flashing
button work as a rollover, but there's a different technique for that
