Is it possible to have clickable hypertext links within a text element in Adobe Edge ? I have a layout where a sidebar with text comes in as an overlay as animation completes. When I try to code in a text link in a text element, the HTML shows up, and I cannot seem to find any info on how to incorporate actual hypertext links within a text element, or if this is even possible.
If this *is* possible, a second question is:
is it possible to have dynamically-generated clickable text (ie a PHP query to pull a list of links to recent Wordpress posts) into an Edge animation? I have a feeling this is more complicated than it would be worth at this point, but hey, it's worth a shot.
In answer to your first question, it is possible to do this in Animate using jQuery. Let's say you had a text element named "Text" (sans-quotes) in your main timeline. Add this code to your Stage compositionReady event:
sym.$("Text").html('<a href="http://html.adobe.com" target="_blank">Adobe & HTML</a>');
And that will render in the browser as a hypertext link.
