I came across a posting from back in 2006--the individual was
having this problem, but he received no response. Dunno if he was
using FW CS3, but I am, and when I open a Photoshop file in FW, any
type in the file gets thrashed--the type box is greatly enlarged
and if I do ANYTHING to the type in the box, it all blows up. The
type expands (increased leading) to fill the enlarged box.
Why is this happening? Is there a way to fix this? VERY
frustrating, though I love everything else about FW.
Did a little testing and it would appear that this occurs
regardless of the font used. BUT it also appears that Fireworks
just doesn't understand Photoshop's "AUTO" leading. Fireworks
either blows the leading way out or totally collapses it. Set a
font at, say, 12/14 and it imports into Fireworks just fine. Looks
like I have to specify leading and not leave it at "AUTO."
