CC3730 Jun 26, 2013 5:32 PM (in response to lasvideo)I think the overall suite is fantastic and programmers have to eat too. Has anyone thought about what the result of Adobe not staying healthy financially would be? If you don't like CC then don't pay for it and live with the versions of the software you have. The petition is nothing but noise. Adobe,,,, please dismiss it and pay attention to revenues and stay healthy!!! The rest of you,,, vote with your wallets if you don't like CC. Buy another application that will do what you want if you can. Go with GIMP. Otherwise,,,,, take a look at the new software and make some noise about what you like and what you think could be better.
For me, I am already LOVING the ability to sync PS settings via CC to different machines. My actions are completely synced and that is too cool!!!!
Let Adobe know what you think..... great job Adobe. As for the Creative Cloud App itself..... needs some work:
1. Move what is currently called "Home" to "History",,,, I might care some day when I last updated some app, but rarely. "Home" should be one of two things that is settable in the preferences: a) a simple list of CC Application Icons that allows me to quickly launch any of the CC,,,, or Adobe Apps on my machine or b) same thing, but a longer list of the same app icons that also has a description of what each one does for newbies like me to so many of the apps outside of Ps and Lr.
2. At the top left of CC App window where the logo is make the logo a live link that will take me to "My Adobe",,,,, the app already knows if I am authenticated..... please don't ask me to login again. just do it. ;-)
3. I'm on a Mac so I have no idea what windows users see,,,,, I like the Icon on the menu bar and HATE, HATE, HATE that there is also a Creative Cloud icon in my Dock. Either ditch the dock icon completely or put in preferences, but I don't want to see it. If it's in the menu bar it should NOT be in the dock also.
4. Give me more options in the CC icon/window to tie in anything I would do on an Adobe web site. ie: launch to forums, behance, etc., etc. I do not let very much on my menu bar, but if it is there it better add a lot of value,,,,,,, so once I click that icon give me everything Adobe.
Just my two cents....... do with it what it's worth.

lasvideo Jun 26, 2013 5:38 PM (in response to CC3730)Speaking of noise, you are very good at it. I dare say you excel at it.
Make your suggestions for software issues here. https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform That way Adobe will be sure to see them.
And we wont be exposed to your obnoxious noisy comments.

So Adobe needs corporate welfare now to survive? No one begrudges Adobe making a reasonable profit, but last year Adobe themselves said:
"For fiscal year 2012, Adobe achieved record revenue of $4.4 billion."
"Record revenue" doesn't exactly sound like they were starving... and that was under the old model as well.
And I would bet that the "Programmers" weren't getting the lion's share of the profits either.

ReactionAtWork Jul 2, 2013 4:39 AM (in response to lasvideo)More is the idiot who, in effect, signs a lifetime contract, at an unknown future rate, to own the access rights to their own creations.
- Would a musician pay the instrument maker, forever, to be allowed to open or modify the sheet music that he composed on that instrument?
- Would a painter pay the easel maker, forever, for the right to mount a new canvas and keep on painting?
Of course not. You expect to pay a known price for equipment and then it's yours to use as you wish. This isn't old fashioned thinking, it's common sense.

As the person responsible for software acquisition/licensing at the photography school which employs me...and as a former corporate IT management type...this is a cash grab and nothing more. Adobe is doing an Autodesk, deciding they are in the catbird's seat and can dictate terms. Well, that works for a while, but not, perhaps, forever.

DanielW2011 Jul 2, 2013 3:38 PM (in response to lasvideo)I like the on line software thing. File sharing cloud is a total scam getting clients to pay $70.00 just to see their files is a rip off. And don't tell me you can share them one by one cause that is just plain stupid, a waste of time.
