Not sure how to search for this so I'll just post and hope
someone has an answer. I think it's probably pretty easy.
I have a grid of 16 thumbnails that are buttons. When you
rollover one button, I want the rest of the buttons to gray out.
Then when you roll off that button to another, the new one lights
up and all the others gray out.
I know this can best be accomplished with actionscript and
not a long convoluted movieclip. And it seems pretty
common...anyone know of any tutorials that have similar set up i
can look at?
are you asking me if I am using actinscript2 or
actionscript3? I'm pretty much a novice at actionscripting
(generally I find a tutorial of what I am trying to accomplish or
near to it and then alter it until it fits my needs).
yes, that's what i'm asking. the code for mouse handlers is
completely different in as2 and as3 if you want specific help.
in general, use a for-loop to iterate through your buttons,
assign a mouse handler and in each handler loop through all your
buttons. if they are not the current button, call a function that
starts the "gray out" animation.
