You can see the whole site at http://theweemidgie.com/ and get the code there. The site was built in CS6, and I certainly did not experience the black at the time.

This is the way the page appears in split/design view. The black is supposed to be transparent and appears white in the live site, and the bluish area is the currently selected div, which returns to black when deselected. The white areas which show are images with white backgrounds.

Click on the EYE icon. Select "Hide All Visual Aids."

Does this only happen with Fluid Grid Layouts? In all sites or just this one?

I have two sites it's happening in, one fluid, one fixed. Both appear correctly with white backgrounds in live view and online. Other sites have coloured backgrounds and they are ok.
In these two problem sites the background colour is set in DW to transparent. I have now found that if I change the background colour to #FFF the page appears OK. As I said in earlier post, tI dont remember this being a problem in CS6 - it's as if CC treats transparent as black in design view, but white in live view.

Background:transparent posed problems for many in CS6, too.
