Most likely because 'this' within onLoadInit refers to the MovieClipLoader
class, and not a MovieClip. If you look in the Help, you'll see onLoadInit
can receive a target parameter, use that, or directly reference the clip you

I tried your methode, but that also does not seem to work.
I have tried to find this problem on google.. and it seems that i am not the only one having this problem.

I've had problems with doing an attachMovie after an onLoadError, but I don't think I've done much with it otherwise. I seem to recall a couple of things that could gum up the works.
Any chance the two swfs are published for different versions of Flash?
Also isn't there some issue with which Library the attachMovie will be pulling from?
This is the code that did not work:
create a child of loadinme_mc and load your jpg to that child target. you can then attach to loadinme_mc.
