I created a design on 8.5x11 inched in indesign. Everything fits in this size and everything is lined up. I exported it to a pdf and the pdf looks fine. Except, when i go to print, the document it getting reduced to 96%. If I remove the scaling, my design ends up being bigger than the original size of 8.5x11. How is that possible? I don't know what to do. If I print from the indesign, the image also enlarges and it prints off center. I'm not sure what to do get the printing size to stay true to the original size. Any ideas?
Sounds like you included a bleed or marks in the export.
I didn't include a bleed. its an 8x9 document made within an 8.5x11. i had to do it that way because it is getting printed from a copier. I have 1/4 margins going all the way around. I unchecked the bleed in the print box just to be sure.
You don't need to set it up at 8.5 x 11 to print on the copier. Set it up as 8 x 9 and print from Acrobat or Reader with Auto Rotate and Center checked and Document Scaling set to None.
