    Flex 3.5A QTP IE Crash

    HatrickPatrick

      Hello

I'm experiencing a crash trying to use QTP with Flex?

Don't have this issue with Flex 4.6 but with a project using 3.6A; using QTP Essentials (Version 11.00.0.0 Build 1018) with all patches on Windows 7 (QTP Info below) and the Adobe provided plugin (for 4.X).

Compile the project with the following compiler settings:

      -include-libraries "${flexlib}/libs/automation.swc" "${flexlib}/libs/automation_agent.swc" "${flexlib}/libs/qtp.swc" "${flexlib}/libs/automation_dmv.swc"

I tend to select only the Flex and Web plugins, have tried without the Web plugin but it made no difference.

When I begin recording with QTP IE crashes as soon as I click a Flex object or view a Flex object with the object inspector, oddly when IE recovers it does insert a line that correctly identifies the flex object but it'll crash again on interaction.

The crash is IE not responding and bringing up a dialog box with 'Internet Explorer has stopped working', close program will re-open the browser but the same happens.

As I say when IE comes back it does seem to have recorded the action:

      Browser("MyApplication").FlexApplication("MyApplicationX").FlexTextArea("txtUserID").SelectText 0,0

Its IE 9, have tried both 64 and 32 bit versions, the event viewer just says its a fault in ntdll.dll:

Faulting application name: IEXPLORE.EXE, version: 9.0.8112.16490, time stamp: 0x51955cca

Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17725, time stamp: 0x4ec49b8f

      Exception code: 0xc0000374

      Fault offset: 0x000ce6c3

      Faulting process id: 0x63c

      Faulting application start time: 0x01ce7bc9446bf6ad

      Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE

      Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll

      Report Id: 8b9723bd-e7bc-11e2-85eb-180373e25886

Raised the issue with HP but they won't support the plugin and recommend I upgrade QTP but I just want a workaround.

      Thanks
