1. Re: Problem: InDesign CC, I can't click any drop down menus or click in fields
Apurva@Cygnet Jul 9, 2013 11:00 PM (in response to Picturequest)One reason for this could be: You have set text size to 150% or more in Windows 7 Display Controls. Set it to 125% (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display) and it will start working... Annoying, I know... but this is how it works.

Picturequest Jul 10, 2013 12:29 AM (in response to Apurva@Cygnet)That did the trick. Crazy, not good on my eyes though. Funny Photoshop and Illustrator worked fine with the 150% setting.

Apurva@Cygnet Jul 10, 2013 12:53 AM (in response to Picturequest)It indeed is odd. And yes, not good for my eyes too.... :-)
One thing you can try: Try "custom text size (DPI)" option and increase it upto 135%. I am not sure but I remember that it worked. It is not as good as 150% but better than 125!

Peter Spier Jul 10, 2013 3:13 AM (in response to Picturequest)I thought that bug was supposed to have been fixed in the cc release. I think you should file a report: Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form

5. Re: Problem: InDesign CC, I can't click any drop down menus or click in fields
Apurva@Cygnet Jul 10, 2013 3:59 AM (in response to Peter Spier)Peter, you are right. It is corrected in CC.
I replied based on my earlier experience and checked in CS6 which was running at that time.
so, Max, it should work perfectly in InDesign CC. I just tested it. On CS6, it does not work, on CC there are no problems.

Bob Levine Jul 10, 2013 5:12 AM (in response to Apurva@Cygnet)Are we absolutely sure the OP is using InDesign CC and not CS6 installed via CC?

7. Re: Problem: InDesign CC, I can't click any drop down menus or click in fields
Picturequest Jul 10, 2013 8:11 AM (in response to Bob Levine)It is CC because I just installed it last night and its update. I will try it again with the 150% as soon as I have time to restart everything. I have too much open at the moment to log out. But atleast it works at 125%

Rinas23 Jun 14, 2014 2:13 AM (in response to Bob Levine)Hi Bob,
just i installed a tryout version of AdobeIndesign CC and updated to latest version but the same problem occured as reported from picturerequest.
Win7 x64 with Font-size 150%, Dell UP2414Q UHD TFT, when i change the text size below 150% the Preferences pages etc.... are clickable, if not
i only can use tab-key to change values! And its not an option to change text size to 125% on this TFT, everything is to small!
Sorry the Adobe HIGHDPI Windows nigtmare......

10. Re: Problem: InDesign CC, I can't click any drop down menus or click in fields
Peter Spier Jun 14, 2014 3:46 AM (in response to Rinas23)It's the combination of the large font AND Aero that causes the problem. You can use the large fonts if you switch to a classic theme.

11. Re: Problem: InDesign CC, I can't click any drop down menus or click in fields
Rinas23 Jun 14, 2014 9:29 AM (in response to Peter Spier)Peter, ok thanks,
Classic just looks Poor , under "Performance Options" i only disable "Desktopgestaltung aktivieren", Eng = "Enable Desktop Compostion"?
Thats enough and work, and preserves the modern Blue Win Design.
Is there an Option to double the size of the Menue Items at top/left/rigth because they are still really tiny?
Thanks!

12. Re: Problem: InDesign CC, I can't click any drop down menus or click in fields
Peter Spier Jun 14, 2014 10:20 AM (in response to Rinas23)Obviously tastes differ, but I've got a custom classic theme I use that is virtually identical to the Aero, except that it lacks the useless transparency in the window title bars, animations and rounded corners. You cannot adjust the size of elements in the InDesign interface.
