dougofakkad Jul 11, 2013 4:08 AM (in response to ThomasBB83)i meant a shot of the drawing itself. maybe someone can tell what those extra paths are doing and why they're there.

ThomasBB83 Jul 11, 2013 4:20 AM (in response to dougofakkad)Ohh, like that. Sorry, I completely misunderstood you then.
I'm not terribly comfortable posting our work online, especially considering the stuff we're drawing won't be release until next fall. I realise this will make it very difficult for anyone to help, though.

Jacob Bugge Jul 11, 2013 4:31 AM (in response to ThomasBB83)Thomas,
In addition to what Doug said, you probably have a vast number of small paths/stray points that should not be there. You may try Select>Object>Stray Points and delete whatever turns up; and you may look for paths below a reasonable length (I am unsure whether you can find that in the Select>Object list, you may need some other way).
But the numbers of Clipping masks and Compound paths are rather conspicuous.
Something must have gone wrong, or the shoe is drawn in a detail corresponding to the Empress of the Seas.

Ultimately, you may need to more or less start anew, maybe selecting and copying key paths to a new document.

ThomasBB83 Jul 11, 2013 4:31 AM (in response to Jacob Bugge)Hi Jacob,
Thanks for the response. I think have nailed down the culprit. Apparantly the "holes" where the shoelaces go through (8 holes) consisted of a whopping 55000 paths (times two, one for each side of the shoe).
After deleting those, things seems to have bettered. But I'm not sure it's worth it trying to clean them up.. it's probably faster just to redraw it, as you suggested.
Thanks again!
BR,
Thomas
