frogmike Jul 12, 2013 8:50 AM (in response to adriana ohlmeyer)Well I tried it and it changed the brush circle from white to black and vice-versa. Not sure what that does, but it didn't fix my problem : (

4. Re: Adjustment Brush being picky
frogmike Jul 12, 2013 10:43 AM (in response to adriana ohlmeyer)Not a problem, thanks anyways.
I've attached a photo for better reference

My crossmark was right on the edge of the green shirt, and with the circle size being on the background, it didn't affect the background.
I know this isn't how its supposed to be because it used to work right and I've had this problem before, somehow solved itself.
The purple spot that is on the sky, that's when I brought the crossmark onto the sky, and you can see how only then it affected it.
Really frustrating with this setting as the edges affected are far too concentrated.
Any help would be awesome thanks.

adriana ohlmeyer Jul 12, 2013 4:36 PM (in response to frogmike)Check if auto mask is on or off, please. Are you trying to correct the shirt or the background?

6. Re: Adjustment Brush being picky
frogmike Jul 12, 2013 5:43 PM (in response to adriana ohlmeyer)I switch between mask on and off.
Regardless of what I'm trying to correct, the effect is the same, its like the tolerance is set up really high or something.
I came across another thread or two who had something similar, anti-aliasing edges where the brush was applied.
This stupid bug is really making my work kind of difficult and the results are not that great.
Thanks...

7. Re: Adjustment Brush being picky
Thomas Knoll Jul 12, 2013 6:09 PM (in response to frogmike)This is NOT a "stupid bug". You have the "Auto Mask" checkbox checked, which tells the adjustment brush to do exactly this (limit the effect to colors similar to the area in the center of the brush).
Uncheck that checkbox.

frogmike Jul 12, 2013 6:28 PM (in response to Thomas Knoll)Oh my god, you're right! : O
I thought you were refering to "show mask", which is the purple thing I turn on and off to see where I've brushed.
This totally fixes it!!
Thank you so much!!!! : D

station_two Jul 12, 2013 8:53 PM (in response to frogmike)So, instead of marking the creator of Photoshop and Adobe Camera Raw's definitive reply as Correct and apologize for your ill considered remark on a non-existent "stupid bug", you go and mark your own response to it acknowledging your own user error as "correct"?
Not that Thomas Knoll needs or has any interest in the silly "points" awarded by the forum, mind you…
