1. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
KRupani Jul 12, 2013 6:27 AM (in response to RichardEWarriner)Hi RichardWarriner,
Please log out of creative cloud and log back in and then try. To log out click on the drop down arrow on the top right hand side of the creative cloud desktop window ---> click on preferences ---> account ---> sign out.
Incase if this doesnt fix the issue you can edit the 'Hosts' file. If you see any Adobe entries in the hosts file just delete all those entries and then save the file.
Location of hosts file
Windows :-- C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (open it with notepad)
Mac:-- Finder window ---> click on go on the top ---> click on 'Go to folder' ---> type '/etc' ---> open hosts (open it with text edit)
Thanks

RichardEWarriner Jul 12, 2013 7:05 AM (in response to KRupani)Hi Kapil,
I have no need to sign out of Creative Cloud, it does that all by itself, repeatedly...
However I keep on signing in only to lose the connection sometimes minutes later, other times it can take hours to sign out.
My hosts file is totally empty, just the commented out entries as expected in a clean install. Why would you expect there to be adobe entries? Should there be?
This is driving me crazy. Until the latest update of CC everything worked without hitch. I never had to re-authorise any CS6 applications until this update. Now both CS6 and CC applications are unstable as far as registration is concerned.
Once again I repeat that I can't understand why if CC fails to connect due to network or server problems then fully licensed software immediately reverts to unlicensed status. This is not what one was led to expect when subscribing to CC.

JSS1138 Jul 12, 2013 7:24 AM (in response to RichardEWarriner)I've been seeing this myself on Windows 8, even with the CC app running as Admin. It is very annoying to have to accept the license agreement every damn time I start a program.
My hosts file is also empty. Keep trying, Adobe.

mike_morales Jul 12, 2013 7:38 AM (in response to JSS1138)Same here... been through tech suport, wasted time trying all their suggestions, as well as anything I saw relevant on these boards - still no solution. I've had to place a punching bag at my desk because whenever I see the damn sign-in/trial mode prompt, rather than break my keyboard, I take it out on the punching bag! lol. ADOBE, FIX THIS!!!!!

Jeff A Wright Jul 12, 2013 12:05 PM (in response to JSS1138)If you are using Windows 7 or Windows 8 you maybe affected by the difficulties detailed in 64-bit products convert to trial on launch or prompt for activation after licensing | CS6, CCM - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/64-bit-creative-suite-applications-repeatedly.htm l. You can request our support team look at your activation history to confirm that you are affected.
We are continuing to actively pursue a resolution for Windows 7 and 8 users affected by this difficulty. Once a solution has been verified then 64-bit products convert to trial on launch or prompt for activation after licensing | CS6, CCM - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/64-bit-creative-suite-applications-repeatedly.htm l will be updated with a solution.

8. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
TrondSvendsen Aug 14, 2013 9:09 AM (in response to jamesaberdeenomega)I have the exact same issue on both work and home computer. Both running Windows 7. I've tried to sign out manually, and then sign in again, but problem persists. HOSTS file is clean, the PC had a clean Windows 7 installation 30 minutes before installing Adobe CC. I did not download any trial versions, I signed in thru the Creative site, and downloaded the suite using the desktop app.
Issues so far are being signed out automatically at random intervals, prompted with the Adobe license agreement, and also I get the baloon in the tray telling me to complete the registration online. Very annoying in the end...
OS is Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

9. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
Jeff A Wright Aug 14, 2013 10:23 AM (in response to TrondSvendsen)TrondSvendsen the difficulties you are experiencing are not related to the issue discussed in message #6. I would encourage you to work directly with our support team to determine what behavior or security software which is causing the deactivation requests to be sent from your computer. These deactivation requests are then causing you to need to sign back in again.

TrondSvendsen Aug 14, 2013 11:03 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)I talked to someone in support over phone, and so far I've removed the Creative Cloud client, and then re-installed it. Only been 20 minutes or so, too early to say if it has resolved anything. I did get a prompt to agree to the license terms after launching AE.
I'm only running Microsoft Security Essentials on both machines, nothing else, part from the built in Windows 7 firewall.

12. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
X002657 Aug 15, 2013 6:52 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)I find this thread frightening, and somewhat in conflict with the "CS6 v CC" thread here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5499291#5499291
This thought just occurred to me:
I have a fuilly licensed version of CS6 Prod Stuio Premium on my home workstation.
I'm currently engaged to edit a project using PPro/CC at another location.
In order to edit from home, I'm considering adding CC to my home worksation, however I presently have a Trial version of a PPro plugin (Boris Graffiti) that is still active, i.e. the "Trial expiration date" has not yet passed.
My questions:
1) Will my trial plug-in work in both CS6 AND CC upon installing CC?
2) If I join/install CC today, could the setting for my trial plug-in affect me in such a way that I'll be suffering the incessant registration issue?
3) Might an active or "expired-but-resident" trial of other software be a contributor to - or cause of - the repeated re-registration issue?

13. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
Jeff A Wright Aug 15, 2013 11:46 AM (in response to X002657)X002657 only a small number of users are affected by the difficulties discussed in post #6. Unless you were facing similar difficulties with CS6 it is unlikely that you will have to sign into your Creative Cloud membership multiple times.
In regards to your trial plug-in inquiry I would recommend either contacting the developer or you can try posting in the Premiere Pro forum at http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere. It is likely though the Users in the Premiere Pro forum would ask you to contact the developer as well however.

Peter Villevoye Oct 5, 2013 5:08 AM (in response to Gohunter)Same here. Due to updating several CC components earlier and/or being off-line now and then, many applications often ask me to sign in again, type in passwords, or prompts me to "Complete my registration and profile" for the unnecessary twentieth time. It becomes a nuisance and sometimes even a dangerous dead-end, when an application demands to fill-out CC credentials while you're not on-line. There are still a lot of situations to tackle and bugs to kill, I gues...

16. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
Jeff A Wright Oct 5, 2013 1:32 PM (in response to Peter Villevoye)Peter you may be prompted to sign in but if you are on an annual plan you have up to 99 days to sign in. If you are on month to month then you may have up to 30 days to sign in. You can find more details on this in the Creative Cloud FAQ at http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html.
Do I need ongoing Internet access to use my Adobe® Creative Cloud™ desktop applications?
No. Your Creative Cloud desktop applications (such as Adobe® Photoshop® and Illustrator®) are installed directly on your computer, so you won't need an ongoing Internet connection to use them on a daily basis.
An Internet connection is required the first time you install and license your desktop apps, but you can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license. The desktop apps will attempt to validate your software licenses every 30 days.
For annual members, you can use the apps for up to 99 days in offline mode. Month-to-month members can use the software for up to 30 days in offline mode.

Peter Villevoye Oct 13, 2013 3:37 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)I know all the convincing and reassuring arguments about the normal installation and use of the CC apps. But I'm going to take a very good look at what happens when I receive and install updates. Some require me to "Agree" to their EULAs, and I wonder if and how this is being handled when I'm off-line. Many CC applications still use various installation and authentication methods behind the screens. We'll see...

CloudDisaster Jan 16, 2014 10:07 AM (in response to Peter Villevoye)I just got hit with this this morning. This problem still persists? Six months later?
The article you say will be updated
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/64-bit-creative-suite-applications-repeatedly.htm l
doesn't have a timestamp, so I have no way of knowing if this still being looked in to. When was the last time that article was updated, six months ago? Today?
How can we help you get to the bottom of this issue Adobe? What do you need from us? This needs to be resolved, and a pithy 12 step tutorial on how to copy and paste isn't really a solution--it's an insult.
It is a sad day when your legitimate customers receive an inferior experience compared to those who pirate your software...

19. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
RichardEWarriner Feb 7, 2014 3:16 AM (in response to CloudDisaster)It is now February 2014, I first complained in July 2013. The latest insult is when Acrobat graciously informs me my trial has expired but it will allow me an extra day's trial. It is driving me to distraction now having to constantly reauthorise the software everytime I start a CC program and then being invited to "Complete my profile" yet again. Other days CC behaves itself. The same thing happens on both my main computer and also on my laptop. I would assume that most people who subscribe to CC depend on the software to earn a living and reagard the CC programs as essential tools. Can you imagine if you picked up a paintbrush that you had paid for and needed to provide your receipt to prove ownership eight or more times a day before you were able to dip it in some paint.
Should legitimate customers really have to put up with this?

TrondSvendsen Feb 7, 2014 3:41 AM (in response to RichardEWarriner)I've not had any issues with this for the past few months now. 24. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
RichardEWarriner Feb 19, 2014 7:13 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)It’s currently case #0185163076.
I have three times been in contact with your support lately. The problem is yet to be resolved. The latest time the Chat Representative closed that chat while I was following instructions to delete OOBE (for what must be third time).
I cannot begin to tell you how much I regret subscribing to Creative Cloud.
Imagine speaking to a customer over the phone while referring to a document in Acrobat and then to have it suddenly close on you and then being requested to sign in to your trial?
Can you imagine double clicking on an Illustrator file only to find that when Illustrator opens you are invited to sign in once again (and then the file will not be open so you have to minimise Illustrator to find the file once more)? It just isn't conducive to smooth working.
There is something fundamentally wrong with Creative Cloud activation on Windows 64. Both my PC and laptop have exactly the same activation issues.
On another issue if you wish to force your customers to use chat as the primary contact for customer service then it would be good if it didn’t constantly throw up QuickTime errors (Firefox and IE). I have re-installed QuickTime twice so the evidence suggests a poorly configured script for your chat room.
Why does Adobe treat customers who pay month after month like this?

25. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
Gohunter Feb 19, 2014 7:29 AM (in response to RichardEWarriner)I had exact same problem before, try to contact with the customer service
rep and there is lots of hold time and issues like you exactly mentioned.
At some point, 2 or 3 months ago, I switched to Mac all my creative cloud
and the problem vanished. I feel so much productive after not facing that
sign in, accept agreement process over and over.
Good luck!

27. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
RichardEWarriner Feb 20, 2014 6:35 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Jeff, the case asked me to chat online quoting the case number. I have done this three times since as is documented in the case history. I was not aware that I then needed to update your records. Last chat I had disconnected part way through. I did not have problems on this PC when I was using CS6 with the same subscription. Ever since I moved to CC I have had nothing but problems and keep being told to delete the same old files and/or folders again and again. I have uninstalled the CC application, deleted its database and reloaded it only to find that it A) no longer knows all the CC programs that are on my machine and B) signs out again after an hour or so.
There was some suggestion on the forums a while back that this is a known problem with Windows 64 bit and that a solution was being worked on. Hence my initial patience after all I have a job of work to do which is suffering enough interruptions without constantly contacting Adobe.
BTW you really have to fix the scripting on your "Chat Now" because it is painful to use. Each time your agent sends a chat there are three QuickTime error boxes thrown up by the script that need to be closed. This happens on both Firefox and IE and I know my QT is correctly setup. Is this yet another Win64 issue?

28. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
RichardEWarriner Feb 27, 2014 8:36 AM (in response to Gohunter)Hi,
It would seem that if I want to continue using Creative Cloud I may also have to switch to using a Mac since Adobe do not seem genuinely interested in solving what seems to be a recurring problem on Windows systems. It is insulting after several moths with the same problem to keep getting the same solution being offered, asked if I can log in to CC (never a problem, it is staying logged in that is the problem) and then being told my problem has been solved.
Adobe have moved to a subscription model before they had properly tested the architecture. Loyal paying customers are being penalised.
-
29. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
RichardEWarriner Mar 18, 2014 8:53 AM (in response to RichardEWarriner)I am genuinely trying to be patient. I have had support remove all Adobe applications from my PC. Use a cleanup application and then re-install, all done yesterday. Today I have had to sign in 5 times in the space of 20 minutes. I really wish I had not invested so much time and money in using Adobe applications down the years because it would seem all they are doing is giving me ulcers.
Clearly the change to subscription based use of Adobe software has been implemented before the licensing systems were properly tested across all platforms.
Surely each time a machine "calls home" for validation it is logged. Adobe must have clear logs of machines repeatedly having to revalidate multiple times a day and in some cases per hour, I feel sure that mine is not an isolated torment.

31. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
RichardEWarriner Mar 19, 2014 4:30 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Jeff,
I followed the guidelines having found an entry "Failed in error:
StreamTransformationFilter: invalid PKCS #7 block padding found". Ran
IMSLibReplacer.exe as an admin. It seemed to do the trick until I
downloaded the next app (remember I had all my apps removed by support).
I assumed that maybe I needed to run IMSLibReplacer.exe again after
installs so I tried it once more. After maybe an hour I was signed out
once again. I get the impression that Acrobat tends to be the program
that breaks the registration each time since that is the one that
spontaneously closes on me.
Why am I paying £38 per month for software that can't function for an
hour? I rue the day I "upgraded" from CS5 with a permanent licence to
the monthly Cloud licence.
Regards
Richard

33. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
RichardEWarriner Mar 20, 2014 5:22 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Jeff,
I have now got to the bottom of the problem and seem to have solved it. Once I realised the problem was associated with a USB device state change I realised that maybe my pen-drives were causing the problem even if the problem didn't coincide with plugging them in (that would have been easy to spot!). By default I fully encrypt my pen-drives using TrueCrypt. When plugged into a computer they show up as unformatted until they are mounted in TrueCrypt. I make sure that the PC doesn't allocate a drive letter to the drives to prevent it constantly asking to format them which would destoy the encrypted data. By switching to an encrypted file on the drives rather than encrypting the entire volume, the issue went away albeit with a less elegant encryption solution. My conclusion is that Creative Cloud applications on a Windows platform are only partially compatible with TrueCrypt 7.1a, one of the leading encryption tools. This may prove useful to others facing a similar issue.

Richard

35. Re: Why does CC now sign out several times a day and applications revert to trial mode almost instantly?
RichardEWarriner Mar 20, 2014 8:10 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Hi Jeff,
Yes, that is the correct TrueCrypt. Why doesn't everyone use it routinely?
Adobe Acrobat did revert to trial mode once today but nevertheless apart
from that one time everything seems more stable now.
It may not be anything to do with TrueCrypt per se, it may be the OS
polling the pen-drive when a drive letter is not assigned to it which
somehow ends up confusing the Adobe verification routines - which would
explain why the issue doesn't arise when the pen-drive is initially
inserted and the TrueCrypt volume is mounted.
With pen-drives containing several Gb of data there is no way I would
risk carrying it round without using secure encryption.
Regards
Richard
