I have just upgraded from CS4 to CS 6, and am frustrated that when I open a document created in CS4 and hit "save" after modifying it, I get a messages that says that I cannot save it under a new name (same name, but CS6), and sometimes it adds that the "file DBTmp is damaged."
I did find that I can, however, save the same file to the desktop... which I then can move to where it goes, but only after giving my computer password. (same thing happens when I try to "export" to pdf or jpg; message says "problem was found with a background task... I can't save to the original location, but I can save it to the desktop!)
What a pain! Is this some new "glitch" in CS6? Anyone know how to make it go away?
No. it's either your system, or the file is damaged (that error message is VERY scary).
I STRONGLY advise you to adopt a new strategy for converting the files: Export to .inx from CS4, then open that in CS6 and Save AS with a new file name. DO NOT OVERWRITE the old version as it will serve as an emergency backup.
Just before installing CS6, I did also go from Mac OS 10.6.8 to 10.8.4... any chance that has anything to do with the issues? (thanks for your suggestion; I will definitely try that)
Anything but a clean install of both the OS and ID are potential problems.
