I'm new to Edge, I did the sample Edge turorial  - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/learn/start/animate.html - the sample file works great in the app, but the applied blur features are not showing up when launch in a browser. What would cause this?

          Hi there,

Only webkit-based browsers currently support CSS filters such as blur. So your blur won't appear in IE or Firefox until they have support for CSS filters.

Sounds like I should avoid using blur features for the time being. Are there other features that should be avoided being used?

Edge Animate CC provides a warning at the bottom of the Stage panel if certain effects are not supported in certain browsers.

Off the top of my head:

              1. All CSS filters (those are Filters in the Properties panel) are not supported in IE and Firefox (not as of this time, anyway)
              2. Gradients are not supported in IE9
              3. Text shadow is not supported in IE9

              hth,

              Joe

Thanks Joe. All good to know before diving in too deep.
