Hello, I'm thinking about making this web application that would stream a live event to visitors using RTMFP peer-assisted networking with Cirrus. I've read some articles on RTMFP and have a pretty good idea how client flash applications could exchange streams with each other.
However, if there is only one publisher in the group (and it's not a user, it's a computer that we have access to), could the publisher then benefit from using the Flash Media Encoder? Could it be used with Cirrus or would it be better to install Adobe Media Server alongside as long as Flash Media Encoder is installed anyway?
i think Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE) can provide higher quality video encodings than you can get with the H.264 encoder in Flash Player. FMLE only speaks RTMP, so you need to send it to Adobe Media Server to publish.
